We make sure that your data is handled in a way which complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Data Protection Act 1998, and any other relevant legislation.

In this document, ‘we’ refers to County Castles Ltd and its representatives. ‘You’ refers to visitors to our website and our customers.

Who is responsible for your data - The data protection officer/company owner, Mr John Sim, is responsible for making sure that your data is stored and processed safely. You can contact the owner on either of the published telephone numbers found on this website or through our "Contact" email facility.

Why do we process and store your data - In the initial stages of you making an enquiry through our website "Booking form" or "Contact" your data is stored within that form. This is primarily so we can respond to you via email or, in the majority of cases, by telephone. This includes your name, email address and your contact details. Following contact from us we delete this form. If a booking is confirmed we transfer the details you have provided to a diary. If no booking is made we do not retain any of your details. We store your details for ongoing contact in relation to your booking and also for tax and insurance reasons. We only store or process data which you have given directly to us and which we need to run our business. We also record our customers details in a "Contract" form on delivery of the equipment you have hired. This form is in a hard copy and contains your name, address, and contact telephone numbers.

How long will we keep your data - We are required to keep your personal details for up to seven years after you were a customer of ours, for tax and insurance purposes.

Who has access to your data - Our data protection officer is responsible for managing access to the personal data we store. Only the data protection officer and members of staff will access your data. Some of the services we use will also store a copy of your data. For example, our website provider, our email provider Yahoo or Wemail roundcube. These background emails containing your details are deleted after first reading. Similarily If you send your details via Facebook that platform may keep a copy of your messages. We do not sell or give your data to any third parties for any purpose other than our insurers where necessary or to HMRC in the event of a tax audit

How can you see what data we store about you - You have the right to request details on any data we store about you. We can send a copy of your data to the email address you provided to us.

You will not receive marketing messages from us.

How do you make a complaint about our use of your data -The Information Commissioners’ Office (ICO) is the authority for data protection in the UK. Hopefully we are able to resolve your issue with us in the event that you are not happy with how we store your limited data.
